“Only 10% of college athletes with known mental health conditions seek care from a mental health professional.”

– American College of Sports Medicine

welcome to the team.

The Athletes Mental Health Foundation is a community of athletes, coaches, parents, advocates, and mental health experts committed to solving the mental health crisis in sports.

Our Story

We have seen the pain. We have seen the suffering. We have also witnessed incredible resilience and healing. The mental health crisis in sport is real - and we know it’s a solvable problem. It’s not just that athletes need more resources, it’s that systems must change. We are “systemically minded” licensed mental health professionals. When there is a problem, we are trained to zoom out and consider the whole system in the change process. We know that athletic systems are causing harm, therefore the athletic system must be part of the solution.

We saw the urgency of this crisis and we couldn’t look away. We love sports and we want it to be a space that fosters growth, resilience, and meaning for every athlete. As friends, colleagues, and sports enthusiasts, we knew we could help. We founded Athletes Mental Health Foundation to find solutions. Systemic change is our forte, and we are excited to be turned toward change.

At the Athletes Mental Health Foundation - athletes, parents, and coaches can find the help they need.
